A testimony of bubbles & bruises…

A lot of testimonies are often TLDR affairs so this one is going to be kept to a couple of points until it’s established.  I want to write this from a place of; “Me too” having been on a journey for many years and often stumbling.  I want to meet people where they are at and assure them that they aren’t ‘off the map’.  Thankfully God is amazing and will use our broken pieces.  This blog is going to have a lot of gaming references and terms, because I enjoy video games greatly and relate to other gamers.

Currently, I have a vision for using The Sims 4 to share stories, anecdotes and Biblical stories/perspectives.  The above picture is the story of Vance who is just kind of really angry at life.  His anger is fueled by his job, a restaurant critic.  He engages in smoking bubbles to relieve the stress, but is finding more and more it doesn’t work.

I hope to build folders of cohesive storytelling or stand alone screenshots with commentary, so you should be able to find what you want easily.  I’m also currently enjoying Elder Scrolls Online, so some of that may feature here, too.  I also plan on putting in a few rants about the gaming industry or any game-related topics here and there, whenever something catches my attention.

Oh, so, I should probably introduce myself – duh!  I’m Jules (Bubblebruise) and I’ve been interested in games since the days of playing Commander Keen 2 on the PC – Yes, i’m that old!  My first MMO & MMORPG choices were World of Warcraft  & Diablo 2.  Reaching an impossibly difficult level of 98 on my sorceress as I did so many cow levels, I couldn’t reach 99, it would have broken me.

In terms of faith, I was raised in a christian household, but have had a fair share of struggles and times when I walked away from the Lord, which is why I have a heart for people who are walking that path currently.  So, that’s some of my broken pieces – I struggle with authority and believed lies that God was a disciplinarian punishing his children.  As a result I lived with depression for many years and was an incredibly miserable christian.  Thankfully the Lord reached out to me & saved me (again) in a way that might be surprising to some.  It was during an episode of the hit TV Show, Supernatural, which I also really enjoy.

My mission is to; create (stories, designs and life anecdotes), explain (Bible principles) and invest (spending time valuing people) as a support role in the ministry of the Walk in Obedience community, lead by Fuzzyspartan – Fuzzy’s twitch.  I’m seeking to promote authenticity, growth & creativity for those that are struggling with life or have wandered from Jesus.  I aim to achieve this by illustrating my own brokeness, personal testimony and offering a non-judgemental attitude. I see myself as no better than anyone else and it is only the love of Christ that completes me. I am a work in progress.
The heart of this for me is built upon Hebrews 3:13 Amplified Bible (AMP) – “But continually encourage one another everyday, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication].

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and entertaining,
and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is an issue that not enough folks are speaking intelligently
about. I am very happy that I found this during my hunt
    for something relating to this.
